Matthew is the founder and Managing Director of Leeward. Prior to Leeward, Matthew was the CEO of American Forest Products (“AFP”) and its U.S. Virgin Islands affiliate, Lexington Management. Following the housing crisis in 2007, Matthew led AFP’s transformation from a traditional two-step building materials distributor into one of the industry’s most sophisticated technology-enabled third party logistics providers (3PL). Lexington, established in 2010, comprised AFP’s technology platform and provided various management, sales and advisory services to AFP. Matthew moved with his family to St. Thomas in 2010 and resides there full time. Matthew has International Business & Political Science Degrees from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
As a Director at Leeward, Jeff is responsible for financial analysis, due diligence, and stakeholder relations. Prior to Leeward, Jeff was the CFO of AFP and served as a Director to Lexington Management. Previously, Jeff was the Chief Financial Officer for GeoLogic Solutions, a private equity-owned wireless device and software company focused on providing telecommunications solutions to the transportation industry. GeoLogic was spun out from Aether Systems, Inc. (nasdaq: AETH) in 2004 through an acquisition by Platinum Equity, LLC and successfully sold to Xata Corporation (nasdaq: XATA) in 2008. At Aether, Jeff held various finance roles, including Director of Finance, participating in the acquisition of 12 businesses. Prior to Aether, Jeff was a practicing CPA with KPMG. Jeff is a currently licensed CPA and holds the degrees of BBA-Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and MBA from Texas State University.
